Tolcarn Observatory Cornwall Tolcarn Observatory
Looking up in awe

The Tolcarn Observatory will endeavour to support local schools, colleges and universities in their efforts to promote Astronomy within the sciences. Many of the local schools are now providing GCSE courses in astronomy. It is hoped that the observatory will be seen as an educational support tool to enhance the learning experience. We will also run work experience for schools in the area, with a full range of "work type" activities to give students an idea of what it is like to follow a career in the sciences.

We will be running GCSE courses here at the observatory for adults to hone their astronomy knowledge and gain more experience.

All of the observatory lecturers will be involved in STEMNET, an organisation set up to encourage students to pursue a career in the sciences. For more information log onto
